using EAD for Driving Licence renewal

Hi Friends,

I have valid EAD till July, 2005 and my I-140 approved & I-485 pending more than 9 mths. My H1 is going to expire on Nov 12th, 2004 and my company filed h1 extension 2 days ago. I have not received H1 filing recipt yet. My problem is my NH driving licence is going to expire on Nov 12th, 2004 as well. I spoke to my lawyer and he suggested me to renew my licence using EAD and he also mentioned that I will not loose h1 status. Can you pl. advise me on this. I wanted to be on h1 only till I get I-485 approval.

True,
Unless one is in a state like PA where they want one year validity on the work document, which EAD does not provide (one literally has less than one year by the time you have EAD in hand!)

Going to be a sticky situation for us unless we get an adjustment in a couple months!!
