Any expericences anyone for using AP to enter US after landing...please share as I intend to land this fall and enter US using AP...

Not sure if BCIS will ask why I have canadian resident status and American pending...will I face any problems.

Thanks

If BCIS asks why do you have Canadien PR when you have applied for US PR...?

You can say that you had applied fo rthe Canadian PR before you started the US PR process. Since Canada allows thier PR's to be out for 3 years, tell BCIS that you have not decided, if you want to keep the US PR or Canadian PR.

Vault,

Thanks for replying. I decided to apply for AP this week and not go to US consulate and apply for H-1 stamping. As I need to come back fairly quickly.

But this is what I thought many were saying. Again Vault, thanks. You are a pro.

Texas...could you please post your experience on your way back to US using AP.

Thanks

Rajju,

I have not landed yet. I was asking for experiences from other people who have landed and came back using AP.

I will be landing this Fall.

Me a pro?

Man, I wish. Just sharing my knowledge that I have been storing in my head for the past 15 years :)

Good Luck!!

Texas,

What's your experience after you landed and came back to US at the port of entry?

I landed Feb, 2002 and now need to go to Canada to apply for PR card. My visa has expired, but I have Advance Parole and valid EAD. My I485 is pending.

My questions are:
1) What do I need to bring with me in order for me to return to US? Are AP and passport enough?
2) Will this trip or any future trip to Canada have any effect on my US PR process?

Thanks.

Yes. I will also keep the receipt notice of I-485 and some recent paystubs.

Should not affect your US PR process. Don't worry about it.
