Using AP and H1B status

Hi,

I have a pending 485. And my AP and EAD got approved. I recently got my H1B 8th year extension approved. My Visa stamp in my passport got expired. I am planning to go to India next month.
While coming back, should I get my H1B visa stamped and enter using my H1B?
If I use my AP, what happens to my H1B status, should I have to switch to EAD?
Are there any advantages maintainig H1B status after 8th year?

Please give me the details. My lawyer does not give straight answers and says better get the H1B stamped.

-------------- you can get H1 Visa stamp from consulate and enter on H1

---------- if you use AP and you are going to work with same employer who filed your latest H1 then you will be on H1 status and can also file H1 extension in future
