Using AP after I485 approval but no cards..

Does anyone know if using AP is OK after finding out that I-485 is approved but the physical cards have not arrived. I would assume its OK. Any thoughts?

-- if one is out of US when I-485 gets approved then one can enter US with valid AP. if you are in US and you know that your I-485 is approved then with approval notice you can get your passport stamped from Local USCIS or wait for the cards. AP is based on PENDING I-485.
I would assume its OK. Any thoughts?

What Ginnu says is the strictly correct interpretation. However, in practice they are likely to cut you some slack if it's probable that you didn't know your I-485 had been approved. For example, if you got an approval letter just before you left for the airport, no one would expect you to cancel your trip last minute. It is a grey area and one where you need to weigh up the risks on a per-situation basis.
