If you are going to continue to work for the same employer who had sponsored your H1...then you will be in H1 status eventhough you've used your AP to enter.
You can still be on H-1 if you continue to work for same employer. In fact my lawyer insisted that I apply for H1 extension even though I re-entered on AP the last time around.
