Hello all, I need your help with the following. I applied for my employment based I-485 back in February of 2002 at the Texas service center in Houston. Since than I did my finger prints in May of 2003 but have not heard anything back from the INS. The latest update was on May 27th of 2003 saying they have received my finger prints results and processing resumed on my case !!!! Any idea what ay be taking so long ? Is it normal to take so long ? Also, I have been married to a US Citizen for 2 years now, should I scrap the old application and apply through her, will it be faster ?

Thanks in advance on any ionformation you may br ablr to provide,

P.S: All the applications were filled and submitted by my attorney, however he has been VERY useless in answering any questions I have regarding this process. All he tells me is wait, wait, wait

Your options:
1) Call the NCSC with the 1-800 number and ask to have a case inquiry done.
2) Contact a Senator and/or a Congressperson to get status on your case.
3) Visit the local office and inquire about your case.
4) Email the FBI to find out if your name check is complete. If it is, then send that notice to the USCIS, they may not have received it yet.

One of the above may make them notice that you need to take your fingerprints a second time.

Your case is getting old enough that if you have not heard anything lately, they may have lost it, or they sent you something but it got lost in the mail. If you don't prompt them, your case may just be in limbo forever. Most lawyers won't get involved in this type of prompting.
