Useful RFE information

Hi all,

My lawyer sent me a copy of the RFE and there are some things I wish to share w/ everyone for informational purposes.

First, you have 12 weeks to respond to the RFE. No extension is granted on that.

Second, it takes "officially" 14 days for VSC to process the response to the RFE. Further, VSC states that if you do not hear within 60 days, then contact VSC at 802-527-4918. So it seems that cases should be either approved, rejected, moved to district office or another RFE generated within 14 - 60 days.

Hope this is helpful info, and i apologize in advance if i wasted anyone\'s time if they already know this info.
 
That could be true!

My RFE case was approved on the 14 th day after they had received it.

At what stage do you receive the REF?

Would you please help with this question?
After you submit I-485 and related document, when do you receive the REF? And what is a REF? Is it an approval?

RFE is...

RFE is a request for evidence. It is usually received when immigration officer looks at your file. It takes a long time from when you file I-485 to when immigration officer looks at your file. I would recommend reading other posts on this board as well as other helpful sources such as http://www.immihelp.com and http://www.ins.usdoj.gov.
