Used Ap To Re-enter

I thought I would share my experience using AP to re-enter the USA.

I arrived at JFK (NY) and proceeded to the immigration booths. At the booth, a lady asked me how long I was outside of USA and then put my passport and papers in a red envelope and pointed me to another
direction and I was lead to a smaller room where there were more people waiting.

Few minutes later my name was called and a lady asked
me "How are you getting your status adjusted? Who is
applying for your green card? Your wife?" I answered,
"No. my company is applying." She asked me the name of
the company and I answered, and she stamped on the
Parole, stapled I-94 onto my passport and said I was
done.

That\'s it!!

HI Feb140,
While leaving USA I didn\'t have to give a copy of AP to the airline, they didn\'t ask for it. But this may vary from airline to airline. Coming back, it was the same thing. At the (departing) airport immigration they looked at my AP and sent me away. While arrived at JFK, NY airport, at the immigration, they didn\'t ask for anyother papers or anything else. The lady at the desk stamped my AP and made a copy for herself and gave me back my AP (probably because my AP is multiple entry).

I also wasn\'t sure if I would need I-94, but I had it filled out in the plane, just in case. At the immigration booth, the lady said that I did need the I-94 card, probably because my passport was brand new.

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions post them here, I would be happy to answer.

I travelled on AP too...thrice so far

Thought I will share my experience too...hope it benefits someone.

I have been on AP forever now...or atleast it feels like it. Am currently on my third AP. During this time, I left the country thrice and got back in without any problems. At the port of entry the officer had taken my AP, 485 recipt notice and my passport and asked me to wait in a room. He just came back 20 mins later, gave me back the documents and the passport with a stamp along with a new I-94 card and told us that we are cleared to go. The process was similar the other two times too...except that wait times were a little more longer.

Hi waitingsince99

What date does they put on new I-94 while using Advance parole. Copy of I-485 is enough or need orginal of that.

Thanks
Umesh

Why do you need copy of 485

Do you need the copy of I-485, I thought (& as I read from Mastaan\'s msg) only thing you need is your Advance Parole document & Passport & I-94.
Do you need 485, I do not have one as the lawyer had filed the docs. Please advice.
Thanks

The date they put on I-94 was different first time than the other two times. They put "Admitted Indefinately" the first time and the remaining two times they entered "admitted until the mm/dd/yy" where mm/dd/yy was the date of the expiry of the AP.

I frankly dont know if they need the I-485 receipt or not...I just had it with me and that is what I gave along with the passport and the AP docs.

I heard that my wife and I cannot stamp the passport at different times. If so, can I still travel with Advance Parole even though I got our approval notice ?

Multiple Entry Parole

Hi, in your msg you mentioned that you are on your third AP. INS issues only 2 copies with photographs & one copy withour photograph. Do you have to apply for more copies of advance parole if you are travelling more than twice or they keep stamping on the same parole copy as it is multiple entry. Please advice.
