Use of gun in firing range

Hello all - I am a GC holder who will be eligible for USC in 2 years and I had a question. A few work colleagues are planning a trip to the local firing range for an outing, where we will get instruction on handling and firing a handgun. Just a 1 hour fun thing. I wanted to know if there were any questions related to this on the US citizenship application form where I would have to report this and what impact a positive answer would have?

Maybe I am being paraniod here but I thought i would check in and ask all of you who have seen the actual paperwork.

Weapon laws are written on a state-by-state basis, so it depends in what state you're in. Some counties or even cities might even have laws on top of that. However, as a rule of thumb: Owning a gun is not the same as just using it. So just having some fun should not be a problem. I did that too :cool:, and your concerns did not even cross my mind. If in doubt, check with the local police or the sheriff's office where the firing range is located !
 
Just make sure you have good aim, and also make sure your colleagues remain alive in this activity. I dont think It will affect naturalization, but wait for the forum pros to reply just to make sure.

Have you read the citizenship application form? If you did, you would see there aren't any questions about legal gun use, other than being willing to bear arms for the United States.

Remember to read the paperwork at the gun range carefully before signing; don't sign anything that is a declaration of being a US citizen, and don't say YES if they verbally ask whether you are a citizen.
