Use EAD before I-140 approval

I filed I-140 in this August and I-485 in October, together with EAD and AP. Looks like a lot of people here got EAD before I-140 approval. I am currently working on H1 and my wife is H4. She got an offer and will start to work as soon as she gets EAD. My question is: is it too risky for her to use EAD if I-140 is still pending? Thanks.

---- I will maintain H1 and H4 status and will not use EAD till I-140 is approved; I will not take the risk of losing H4 status by using EAD, because if I-140 denied all EAD, AP I-485 will be denied.
