USCIS Website registration, and RFE!

I was reading somewhere in this forum - the theory on how RFE is generated on a case after the person registers on the USCIS website. I found the theory rather funny at that time -- HOWEVER, I registered myself after reading that post, and guess what -- RFE was generated for our case yesterday!

Right now, I have no idea what is the RFE about -- still, I am just happy to see someone is looking at our cases. Who knows, maybe it will get approved one of these days too!!!

I shall update again once I know what is the RFE about.

This theory on registering on USCIS site initiating a movement possibly an RFE is really baseless. I registered on the site on the second day that it became available, I have not recd any RFE, FP. My last updated date is 10/20/02 per the site. I am sure there are numerous such cases.

The movement on your case would have happened either way.

I also registered few days , NO RFE..

By the way what is meant by "last updated date" ? In mycase it was 12/27/03 ... but i did my finger prints in sep 02 and result received in oct 02 ... after that no 2 FP or move moment
Can someone clear me what is meant by "last updated date"?

last updated date.. is the date it is updated last

Well duh - That was very enlightening.

canus_immi, If you scroll down to the bottom of the page, it explains more about the last updated field.
 
I registered a couple of weeks back for my wife and me, and still no activity on my case.....:-(

when i click the register link nothing is displayed on the page .Is there any problem with the website?
 
I took my FP2 on Apr 22 ,results came yesterday Apr 29th.Can any one know how long will it take to approve my case?

FP1 MAY 2002
RFE JULY 2003
RFE replied SEPT 2003
FP2 APR 22 2004
FP2 received APR29 2004

make sure that pop-ups are enabled on ur browser

It is the last day there was any activity on ur case... address change, using AP, inquiry... I guess whenever ur case is touched.
 
Registration Triggering movement

I did not believe it when I first read. However I went ahead and registered at USCIS.

In one week mine and my spouce's ead applications and daughter's AP application got approved.

Hope the luck carries on to the I-485 applications.

I would encourage people to mention their ND/RD, while posting info about receiving an approval or a RFE after registering at USCIS.
It is a coincidence.. is what my feeling..

Of course it is a coincidense!! Funny theory still though. Now we are waiting for the RFE papers to come in. I am telling you good people, once all this is done, I shall need to take a few months off from work and sleep and do nothing. Both me and my spouse has been living in this country for like years. F-1, H-1 and now 485. This needs to come to an happy ending somehow!

Coinsidence I dont belive it anymore

I just registered on 3rd May and I got approval of my AP on 4th may which i was waiting from september 03 cant be coinsidence
