See http://boards.immigration.com/showthread.php?t=125422&page=13&pp=15 (post #187). The attached spreadsheet (VSCUpdates.xls) is a list of all the updates since March this year.

The average time between updates now stands at about 16 days. The last update was 28 days ago which is the longest we've gone by far (20 days was the previous "record") although the update prior to that came after only 8 days.

Some people have suggested that the delay is due to the end of the fiscal year (new year starts on October 1st) which might make sense. If so, I suppose it's possible that we could go for quite some time yet before seeing another update.

The good news is that from what I can tell processing of cases is still proceeding "at pace".

The rumor is that the guy who does the updates for USCIS is waiting for his EB-2 I-140 approval. Since, it has been long delayed, he is protesting by not updating the website. This is an unconfirmed theory. I wrote to USCIS for confirmation. They sent me a notice with the message that such types of requests take between 540 and 999 days of processing time, and I can monitor the progress on my USCIS online account.

very funny!..
