HI All,
The USCIS processing times have been updated yesterday(06/04/2004). This time the processing time for I-140's havent gone that far. Has gone from Oct 1 to Oct 14, but still I guess VSC is doing a good job. Lets all wait for our turns.

I agree with "Want GC soon" VSC has put lot effort to clear backlog, Especially on I-140 and Doing fair enough on I-485 too..Compared to Jan 04 and Now I see in all front VSC is doing fair enough..

I485 still stuck on Feb 15, 2004.

My EAD filed on 03/01/2004 has not been approved yet, even the processing time is 03/10/04 already. Could I call to inquire?

The fact that I485 is stuck to Feb 15 has no significance I think. In Jan 2004 the processing date was Jan 15 or Jan 30 2002. Then they were approving a lot of applications in the range of Jan-Oct 2002. Several weeks later lots of Nov-Dec 2002 cases got approved and now there are several Jan-July 2003 that are approved every week. So the fact that they report Feb 15 has no big value ... it might be that there are still Feb-March 2002 cases not approved yet but these are minority ...

Agree. 485 dates are not being reflected correctly. Also 140 processing is going to gain momentum next week. EAD of around 20th March 2003 have started coming. Seems VSC will pick up speed again.

Hi LCSilence,
You can get your intermin EAD if you have completed 90 days other than Hartford, CT where they ask you to come and pick up your EAD only after successful completion of 104 days(I dont know from where they came up with this number of days).

Jharkhandi and others: I agree with you all that I485 does keep moving in Vermont but definitely not with the dates posted on websites. I guess VSC is playing a safe game all together in updating processing dates in Vermont.

Many of my friends(around six to seven) have got their 485 approved with May 2002 dates, so they are definitely working on those as well.

I am more concerned on I140 after the Oct dates have started rolling. Lets keep the ball moving.

104 days is because it is 90 working days (which is 90/6 = 15 working weeks - USCIS works from Monday to Saturday) which will make it 104 calendar days (you will not need to add 15 sundays and only 14 sundays because you would have got your notice on some working day and you would be visiting office on another working day so it will be 14 sundays added making it 104 days). All centers should be doing this because all regulations are based on number of working days and not calendar days, but USCIS is USCIS :p

Jharkhandi - I was just curious...what is the basis for the expectation that I-140s will pick up momentum at VSC next week?? Something to do with EAD/FP processing? I do hope they keep up pace! They've been doing a good job in the last 5 or so months. Also, I hope the disparity in the range of dates getting processed reduces as well. (there still seem to be some cases pending with NDs in May/June 2003?)

ascii_boston,

The basis for speculation is that this was going to be slowest phase with approvals, with changes being made for the FO memo. VSC people started approvals a little late and moved the dates by a reasonable number towards end of the publishing fortnight. The fast approvals coming out after a period of inactivity shows that changes are close to reasonable completion for a better speed in future.

Second - optimism is infectious - it rebounds back to you if you throw same at others. :D
