USCIS gives different processing times for I-485 & I-130 - Why

I got an acknowledgement of receipt for an RFE on my I-485 (dated 20 Dec)and the online status says it is taking between 120 and 180 days (Lee's Summit) but on my I-130 which has also just been touched, it says that the processing time is 30 to 90 days.

From people's experience here in the forums, which is correct and how long have people been waiting between RFE ack and an interview booking?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I need to file an I131 to be able to travel in April '05.

For some people it really takes 6 months for most - 1 year or a little bit more. It depends on the speed of your local center, not on NBC. Better apply for AP now so that to be able to travel on April.
You must be extremely lucky to get GC by April if you have just filed the papers.
For I-485 follow the times of your local center. Dont even bother about the 130 times, cause when your center is ready to process 485, 130 wil be recalled from Nbc and both will be adjudicated together at the time of the interview.
My advice - send 131. If you browse the forum you'll see that only a few are lucky to get GC that quickly - and these are mainly guys who live in Dallas and filed through the new DORA.
