USCIS email registration

This is a silly question, but I still would like to check with the community... I am in the I-140 stage of my GC application, and I saw at the case status website that I can opt to receive the case status updates via email. Is this designed for lawyers and employers only, or can we register as well?

Also, how good are they with emailing updates? Do emails come soon after there is a status update? When an email comes, does it tell you what the new status is, or does it just say go check your status"

U can register as well as a customer. If there is any RFE or approval on ur case u get mails. I have noticed that if there is just a LUD I have not got mails.
