Guys,

I spent some time to find the phone number and e-mail of this guy Steve Tzikas. I found an OLD directory:

http://www.nbpc.net/Miscellaneous/servicedir.doc

I called the Commissioner number ( I knew it was old) and I got the Enforcement function of the INS. The lady gave me two numbers. One is the

1-800-3755283 ext. 9 and #. The one for dead people.

The other number, I called. A lady answered (Eduardo Aguirre office..), I think is Eduardo Aguirre number. I was surprised as she was ready to hand me over. I said I am looking for this guy, Tzikas, but by the way how is he doing?? She said very well thank you. So the Chief is doing well apparently. I guess I should have made the contact or leave a message.

In any case the number is 202-514-4600. The secretary answers. I think I should call again and establish the communication. What do you guys think?? Please treat this information with care!

Do we have an e-mail address for Mr Kharti?? Can we make it public??

Cinta, I appreciate your efforts

But you're putting me in a very difficult situation here.

Yes we met with Steve Tzikas. He gave us his email id. But I do not have his phone/fax. Nor do I know if he's greek. Most important point here is, he heard our story and showed interest in helping us with the petition.

The only reason he gave us his email id is 'coz I did not have Rajiv Khanna's email contact details with me. The petition has his address/phone - but no email. So he asked me to find out a good email and a valid phone number to get in touch with someone to follow up with the petition. I'll use his email only to send him Rajiv's contact info. I don't have any contact details of Mr. Khatri.

So far this's good. He has a good impression of us as an immigrant community. What will you gain by calling his office or communicating with him in Greek a day after our petition was submitted? We need to give him some time...

As far as giving out the contact details is concerned - Steve trusted us by giving his personal email. I can't misuse that trust and publish his contact details on this website that's visited by 67000 people!

Please don't think that I am not being selfish - I'll be very happy to give out his contact details to Rajiv Khanna if we do not hear from Khatri within a few weeks! These are very important resources - and we should use them carefully.

I hope I'm being realistic here.

Who is Tzikas.

Give your email and Rajiv's email to him. Write him a thank you note directly so he remembers you. Why don't you post what you're going to mail him here and we'll discuss it.

Tzikas is Prakash Khatris assistant

whom we handed over the petition to.

I am waiting for a reply from ar888 (moderator) regarding a good email id, phone number and name of a person from Rajiv Khanna's office who could be contacted regarding the petition.

Once I get that info, I'll send a short thank you note to Steve Tzikas with the requested contact details.

You can send a note to Rajiv at rskhanna@immigration.com or rajiv@immigration.com and discuss with Rajiv directly.

vidogre,

Do not worry; I can find not only HIS information and check him out but much more. I started this Ethnic campaign as we all immigrants come from some ethnic background. I have some experience in campaigns and I know it can work. Actually his name is listed in the document I posted the link above as Tzikas, Stephen A. Due to the INS re-organisation the phones/faxes changed. I do not need his personal e-mail. We need their professional contacts - this is a fair game. We do not even know if Mr Khatri EVER received our petition to begin with (besides you handing it to him). In any case, whether he is Greek or not, he is a low level operative. I personally know Greeks much higher than that and I intend to contact them. Not for myself but for the general cause. I encourage everybody to do the same along these lines. Ethnic people, media and contacts.

I also posted Eduardo Aguirre number above. Maybe Rajiv can call him. (I should verify this number again).

Vidongre, let's write a letter explaining the situation to that assistant. It's not a simple "thank you".

So many months, dry of approvals. Esp slow down in Oct and Nov. Can BCIS explain what is going on? Are they purposely backloging our cases to send us home?

We demand them to solve the old backloged cases(2001 RD)
as soon as possible. For God's sake, still Oct 2001 RD waiters.

On the petition, we said 19 months, now we need it change to 23 months.

Congress contacts

Guys,

Provided you sent our petition to your local congressman and waited for a while (www.congress.org), follow up with a phone call to the US Capitol switchboard number and ask to talk with your congressman: here is the NUMBER:

202-224-3121...................

EDISON

I would like EDISON to call the Honorable Director and find out if our petition was received..
I verified the number today(Federal Holiday. It is indeed Eduardo Aguirre's number:

202-514-4600

There is an answering machine(holiday) and you can leave a message!

Cinta,
Since you already requested Rajiv to call, I will wait for him. Otherwise I'll follow up on this.

Thanks

edison, cinta, I agree . Let us wait for Rajeev to call. Being given nature of almost final authority of BCIS director . Rajiv will be in better position to indirectly threaten him /director that soon he may face action suite from this 485 community if he did not act fast which I do not think any of us will able to push . Edison mention about this to Rajiv positively.

you are perfectly right . When I called few days ago to Customer Service BCIS,VSC.. they told now it is more than 24 months . We shud write something serious nature to these guys. I am now of the similar opinion that these guys are not purposly working on our cases esp 485 approval.

WAIT

Let us wait for RAJIV to call when he comes back Monday. Please do not call, unless absolutely necessary. We do not want to hurt our case here!!
