USCIS Case Status

I completed my interview a few weeks ago and am currently waiting for an oath appointment letter. The interview officer mentioned to me during the interview that name change will take extra 3 or 4 weeks due to the court order.

I wonder whether my case on the USCIS Case Status site will be updated when an oath letter is issued/mailed.

Thank you

Probably not. I am done with my oath and status still says "File has been transferred to local office; interview will be scheduled, etc. etc."

This is a good question.

Will the court send the Oath letter or USCIS?

If it is from court, probably the online status won't change.

In most cases once the application is tranfered from USCIS Servive Center to a Local USCIS field office the online status remains the same so maybe you don't want to count on that one.

pachanga,

Forget about the My Case Status it's just useless at the end of the application processing,

Wave,

The status site doesn't seem to follow up after a case is sent over to a local office. I am working for my client and cannot go home every weekend. That is why I need to find when I receive an oath letter and will be able to attend an oath ceremony. I am thinking of flying back home this weekend or next weekend but cannot make both weekends... I should be eligible for the oath on April 18th. In addition to the 5-year residency requirement (which I did not make on the interview day - April 7th), the name change process added more complexity on my case. The interview officer mentioned to me at the end of the interview that she could assign an oath day if I met the 5-year residency requirement...

I hope I will find it out sooner.

The USCIS case status website is absolutely not accurate. Esp after teh interviewing process. The site just does nto update - at least that is what has been the case for most. So don't rely on the Case Status website.

dr_rks,
bluewonder,

The reason the USCIS case status doesn't change after the enterview is because the interviewing process some times may require some applicants
to apear for a 2nd interview, IO said.

Wave,

I left Las Vegas on April 18th and will go home next Wednesday. Since the USCIS website is not countable at this stage of the process, I have to go home to find it out. I became eligible for an oath on April 18th but also requested a name change at the interview on April 7th. Therefore, I am not sure when I will receive an oath appointment letter. The IO mentioned to me during the interview that I should receive an oath appointment letter within 3 or 4 weeks from the interview date which is April 7th. Anyway, I will go home on April 28th and will post my update.

Thanks
