Good morning everyone I need help here and I have a concern and some questions regarding an upcoming appointment I have with the USCIS.
I applied for a California State ID and this month I got a letter stating that the DHS was unable to validate my documentation. This was really disappointing to me and unfortunate as I was really hoping to get my ID soon.
I was advised to contact the USCIS first and then the DMV, so I went to infopass to see what went wrong.
The documents I provided was my unrestricted SSN, my expired guatemalan passport and my I-94 stating I was admitted as an asylee pursuant to sec (208) and that it's valid indefinitely.
This is the documentation I currently have and will take to my appointment and I am hoping that everything will be okay, since I learned that asylees are not required to have an EAD to work I stopped renewing mine because it was a lot of money. I have my past expired EAD's and I have no renew my home passport since I am an asylee from there and it would not make since to renew it. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advice is appreciated.
