USCIS addresserror led to denial of I-485. Need advice please

Hi everyone,
I am new to this forum and wanted to share my experience and seek advice from people who have gone through this or have knowledge about my situation.

I entered the country with K1 fiancee visa as my husband is a Citizen and after getting married we filed for I-485. USCIS sent the interview notice in November 2006( yes, one year ago) to the wrong address. Despite correcting our address and receiving a confirmation letter from them showing our correct address, they repeated that error once again by sending it to the wrong address in June 2007.

Consequently, my I-485 was denied and I had to file an I-290B or motion to reopen my case. It has been 45 days since I got a receipt on that, but I have not heard anything, nor there is a way to check my status anywhere.
MY EAD and travel documents have expired so I am in a very bad situation right now.

Can anybody tell me

1. What possibilities I have to intervene or expedite?
2. How long does this type of cases typically take?
3. Can I apply for renewal of EAD and travel document right now?
4. Can my husband, being a US Citizen file a case for negligence against USCIS?

Thank you very much.

I am sorry to hear about your denial. My employment based I-485 was denied almost a year ago. In my case there was no NOID or RFE, and no online case staus update. I learnt about the denial while renewing my EAD. I filed an appeal to reopen my case (MOTIC). It was approved in 6 weeks. I think the only way to expedite is to seek your senator or congressman's help. They can forward your file through the congressional liaison to the officer who will review the case. You cannot renew the EAD until USCIS starts processing I-485 again.

Good Luck!
