USC Wife would like to invite her parents to US

My wife would like to invite her parents to US.

Her parents already have 10-yr visitor visa to US.
Her parents currently live in Korea.
My wife would like to bring them here in US to live with us.

What procedure I should take on behalf of my wife? (Paper works, etc...)
and coupled more questions..

I heard people saying If they apply I-130, and I-485 while they came US with visitor visa, they can not leave US until they get the greencard. If they do, their application will be treated as abandonded and will not be able to re-enter US even with visitor visa.. is it true??

For that matter and processing speed, should I start process this while they are in Korea, or start it after they come to US? Which would be better?

I know this type question may have been answered many times previously, but please help.

Thanks so much!!

She needs to apply for a visa for them to come here.

Coming on a tourist visa with intent to file for a green card is illegal, and is cause for denial of green card and being banned from reentering the USA. Although many people do this to "skip the line", I personnally cannot recommend a method which both has high risk, as well as being a kick in the teeth for those who want to do things legally and have to endure the long wait to be with their relatives.

Thanks for quick reply. :)

So, I assume that my wife needs to apply I-130 for her parents in US, and after that is approved, My in-laws should apply for Immigration Visa from Korea with I-130 approval letter?!
Another question, while those applications are in process, can they come to US with tourist visa or should they stay in Korea until all apps get approved and they interviewed?

Thanks so much for your help!!!!!

apply for the I-130 now ($190). It will take a few months to get it aproved. Then:
1) USCIS sends the aprovd petition to the Nat Visa Center
2) NVC sends you an affidavit of support, the visa application DS-230 and of course ask their $$$ fee :)
3)After that the parent is interviewed in their country and given a stamp to immigrate to the US as Per Resident.

The whole process for my parent is taking about 9moths. I started on Feb 25 2006. They are about to be scheduled for the final interview now.
And yes the parent cannot travel with the tourist visa in the mean time just to "speed" things up. They can get in trouble for that.
