USC to apply for GC for spouse in Chicago

Hello,

I will be a citizen soon and will apply for a GC and an EAD for my wife the day after my oath ceremony. We live in Chicago. My wife is currently on H-1. What is the current timeline? How long does it take to get the EAD? and the interview?

Any tips to make things faster and smoothly?

I-130 takes lot of time. Total process may take at least three years.
If every thing is fine then it is better to apply at consulate if your country has the INS. You can come with green card within 3 months.

My wife is currently in the US and she is on H-1. Can we still go through the consulate? In that case, do we send all the paperwork to the consulate rather than the USCIS Chicago office?

By the way, we do not have an USCIS office in Turkey, but a consulate. The nearest USCIS office is in Athens, Greece.
