USC sponsoring parents question

Hi question, for USC to sponsor parents here.

1. Does USC need to fill out I-130 twice for parents (each one), or one form for two?
2. Does USC need to sponsor the parents in terms of finance? If USC doesn't work but have some assets and savings, would that work? My saving is above the poverty guideline.

1. Yes separate form for each parent.
2. Yes financial support for both. Your assets should be good enough to support them and also your own family(spouse and kids) if married. If not you may get a co sponsor to help who may be friend or relative.

Could a USC friend do that? Or USCIS officer that does interview abroad doesn't take friend as joint sponsor?

Look at form I-864P before trying to get a joint sponsor. You might not need one, especially if you include assets.

Every $5 of acceptable assets will reduce the income requirement, and you are allowed to combine your parent's assets with your own (each parent separately though).

It says it has to be 5 x the poverty guideline. What I was thinking was if my income is 0, then I have to have 5 times my money in saving to meet eligibility, which is not enough. What you are saying is that, my parent can use their money to help fullfill requirement even though they are not here in the US?
