US naturalized citizen (naturalized last month) - Will absence from US cause problem

I got my US certificate of naturalization last month. I read at some place that one should NOT change his residence to a place outside US within first year of being naturalized.

My company wants to send me to India for a temporarry assignment for 1..2 years and is willing to file relevant paperwork (if required) with US Department of Homeland.

Q1. Please let me know what kind of application I should file before leaving US to go on this temporary assignment (similar to N-470) ?

Q2. Do you see any issues with my naturalization because of physical absence from US for next 1..2 years.

Thanks a lot in anticipation of your early reply.

Is it possible to revoke Naturalization, bases on US residency after becoming USC ?

Nope. For lying to get naturalized, for treason - yes, but just because you do not live in US - No. Someone said in these forums a while back - you are not an immigrant anymore, you are a citizen and free to live where ever.

No fear of losing citizenship because of where you live, but be prepared to understand the pros and cons of taxes. No need to file any forms. Make sure you update the addresses in all banks/credit cards to either a friend or India address.

To work in India, make sure you have an employment visa, PIO or OCI. They are coming down hard on people working on business visa (due to some spat with China), but I am sure your company will take care of this process, especially if they are moving you for 1-2 years.

If I remember the detail right there is some law like if you don't leave in US for two years after your becoming naturalizaed your foreign born would not receive citizenship through you at birth or something in that area of foreign born child of naturalized citizen.

Incorrect.
You just need to have 5 years of residence in the US, 2 of them after age 14.

If 5 years and 2 years applies after becoming naturalized citizen it is even worsethan I thought, It will be 5 years , Now if we consider 5 years and 2 years rule regardless of before or after naturalization, it will be the diffrent story. Does anybody know exactly how this works or can expalin it clearly?

You read false information. You are now a US citizen and can't loose citizenship based on leaving US.
N-470 and physical presence are terms reserved for permanent residents wishing to become citizens..neither apply to you any longer.

Why would they? and where would you go :-) do not forget to file your returns mentioning your foreign income (Indian income in your case)
also one of my friend had little hiccups in state resident status and his excise taxes (in his case he didn't windup his tie up) (180 or something like that) but he went to tax consultant and sorted it out

So, right after Naturalization if I accept an offer outside US (Canada, Europe or India), with an organization that doesn't have US conterpart, I can safely sell my house (provided someone wants to buy is this economy :) ) and relocate.

Ofcourse, continue to pay all US taxes including foreign earnings.

yes. Yes. Yes.

You surely need to file US taxes, but unless you earn six figures you probably won't have to actually pay US taxes after accounting for the tax treaties, exemptions, and credits available (you can usually write off most or all of the taxes paid to the other government against your US tax liability).

You are a citizen now. So you can live anywhere in the world (with proper visa and legally) and check with your accountant/CA regarding taxes filing. Also, you may want to register your trip/addresses with dept. of state.

You could have hopped on a plane the day you got the Certificate. That was the end of the process, their is no probationary period to Citizenship.

With foreign earnings, I would strongly suggest you use an accountant familiar with international Taxation and not just a Tax preparer to do your taxes. The US has treaties with quite a few countries but they will also give you credits for taxes paid in the other countries so you do not have to pay double Taxation.

Unless you are very lucky a Tax preparer will not know enough about it all to do the job correctly.
