US Green Card and Canadian PR

Hi Guys,

I live in US and Visit Canada Often. I know it's hard to keep both PR and USGC. When I go out of Canada I use US GC. What should I use when I come into to Canada to be on the safe side? Should I show them my Canadian PR card? Because if I show my US GC they might detect that I am Canadian PR.

Some one please share similar stituations and or suggestions.

Thanks

That sucks, I would like to keep them both. I don't want to give my Canadian PR without them asking it from me. If it boils down to that, then I will do whatever is needed.

Could someone please answer my question.

Why should I loose them both. If US has a problem, then I can always become a Canadian Citizen because I acquired Canadian PR after US Green Card. Canada should have no problems, it's because of them I gave up or would give up US GC. Makes sense?

As far as Canada goes, I do know that they don't care if you are Citizen of other countries or not, as long as you maintain their PR they are fine.

Sure disaster of one of the other but never both. Because the problem in having 2 permanant residence is that you cannot maintain both. That being said, if you can maintain 1 or the other, then you are fine. In canada PR can be out of canada for 3 years without running into any problems.

well I am canadian and my advice to you is just dont worry. Any good attorney can help you to resolve this issue. I dont think you have to withdraw from either one....just dont discuss with anyone and only talk to an attorney.....thats the only advise I can give you from my experience....let me know if you want to find a good attorney who knows both regulations or if you know anyone than just get his advise and let us know then may be we can help you out....please dont worry too much, its not a big issue at all.

Well, you generally can't avoid "discussing" it with CIS, if they ask you. And that can happen quite easily if you use the Canadian GC when entering or exiting the US... And as soon as CIS knows that you are a Canadian GC, you can kiss your US GC goodbye...
So, again, having both is a recipe for disaster. Lots of people tried and got burned. Advising people "not to worry" is quite shortsighted and can be dangerous.

why you want to show your Canadian PR to US immigration? you will enter using your GC....with your GC you dont need canadian visa....all he can do get new passport which doesnt have PR stamp and if he want to play a safe game then he should not go to Canada at all. Well still attorney can solve this issue without any problem. you sound very scared but its you :)
