US GC and Canadian PR with a twist

From reading forum I've almost found out everything I needed to know, the experience of everyone who posts here has answered nearly all my questions... except for this one because it is quite unusual...

If I already have my GC card, and I land in Canada, but then return to America I am endangering my GC status, but what if I stayed in Canada for one week, meanwhile cancelled my landed status and then returned to USA....

So my question is, can I just go to the border and have my PR cancelled and therefore it cannot be used as evidence of abandoment? Is that a valid argument?

Thank you

u can abandon PR in a court of law or judge . Write to CIC or call them and ask for the process for the abandonment of PR

Oh really because at some point i contacted a Canadian embassy, since i can't call CIC, and the lady told me i have to do it at a point of entry, or in this case exit, because you cannot be in the country with no status.

Jozek,

so you meant you already have a US Green Card and how you got approval for Canada PR, and you have to cancel Canada PR in order to maintain US PR status? Have you landed in Canada? If not, then you are not a Canada Permanent Resident yet. Therefore, I am not sure if there is any problem here. Pls kindly explain and share your decision/experience with us. Thanks.

Alphabet Double Crosser,

Cannot believe it is you again!!!!!

Why do guys like you treat Canada PR as your 'back-up' and not intend to immigrate there (CAN) permanently and instead crawling back to USA where you are forever in some friggin waiting line or backlogs or retrogression or quota??? How do you manage put up with this amazing level of humiliation day after day heaped on you??

Don't you really get it? The great land of Canada welcomes you into their land, processes your applications faster, gets your PR card quickly (also gets you a welcome at the border) and all you can think of is stabbing it, double-crossing and creeping back to the same hole in USA where you really dont even know if you are going to be let in or allowed to stay and worse...if you are even wanted!!

Oh great! This is your response? All I did was ask some questions and this is the best that you could do?

Moderator,
I do not believe it is the policy of this forum to use profanity and obscenity against other members...can we go ahead and enforce disciplinary action on yfehgh?

And yes..just cause you will not answer and use obscenity against me means you are definitely aware of what I am asking of you...

Know something..I hope you get your wish...we are better off in Canada without the likes of you.

Sheesh maple, cool your engines!!! I am not sure who that speech was to, me or the mixed up alphabet guy, but you sure do come on strong...

I never said I was goin to use my Canadian PR as back up, I am just trying to be prepared for any situation. To be honest with you I would prefer living in Canada my self, however I am only 20 and my family is in America, so I want to know whether what I said in the beginning of this thread is true or not and whether it would be considered at the border.

Also please stop arguing with yfehgh on this thread, you guys already have a thread to argue on, as I saw ;)

Thank you

jozek,

Obviously, you are more of a gentleman than the other vocabulary-challenged member...yfgehh...(or whatever he/she calls himself).

Appreciate your response..

Rich
