iam a permanent resdince been here since 79 but I just rember that I had put that I was a us citizen in some work applications now iam going to get my us citizenship what do I do?

Are you referring to the I-9 form?

Until about a few years ago, the I-9 selection was for "US citizen or US national", and the courts have held that it isn't a claim to US citizenship. It started having a separate choice for "US citizen" and another for "US national" about 3 or 4 years ago.

Did your parents get US citizenship before you turned 18? If yes, that may be an option for claiming your citizenship.

no they are perment resdince in the 80s but I became a perment in 89 last time was in april 1 20013 but I didn't understand the question when I filled the I-9 form at work

Did you fill out an I-9 in the past 3 or 4 years? The I-9 before that didn't have a "US citizen" option, so you couldn't have chosen "US citizen" before 2009 or so, you could only choose "US citizen or US national".

yes on april 2013 but I didn't know what it ment until now that iam applying for us citizenship so what do I do and what would happen

Did you show your green card when you filled out the I-9? Did the employer take a copy of your green card? Are you still working for the same employer?
