Working on 1099 can I apply for Us citizenship?

I got eligibility (completed 5 years) to apply citizenship in Feb'09. But, I lost job in March'09 and was on unemployment benefits up to June 15th. Then started working as a contractor on 1099 without a company. Can I apply for citizenship? Do I get any issues with my situation?

Thanks in advance.

As long as you meet the requirements, notably physical presence and continuous residence you can apply now. Employment is not a requirement for naturalization.

No issues. If you lost a job before you got gc, they wouldn't give you a gc. So you got a gc. Employment is not a requirement for N-400. Unemployment benefits have nothing to do with naturalization. It only poses problem with the process of getting a green card. You are good to go. :)
