Hi,

I submitted my N:400 early last year and for some reason it is still pending at the local office (Fairfax, VA), (FBI name check i believe). My question is:

1) Can i stay out of US for more than six months since my case is pending? I know i can't stay out of USA for more than one year because i am a green card holder. But will i lose the continuity if i stay out of US for more than six months?
Will there be any other problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Whether you can stay outside for more than 6 month does not depend
on whether your case is pending or not. Any >6 month trip is treated
the same by the USCIS whether it occur brfore your submit N400,
between N400 submission adn interview or between the interview and
oath.

Any >6 month trip can lead to 2 outcome depending on details and particular IO

You have to maintain continuous residence all the way until the oath, so if you take a 6 month trip while the N-400 is pending your case may be denied for breaking continuous residence.
