US citizenship interview videotaped..!

A friend of mine went for his citizenship interview at the local office and he was told
the whole interview will be recorded on video.

Is that common or only for special cases/situations?

This is not usual, but has been known to happen when the officer wants to maintain a record of the statements made under oath.
If the case / story is straight, nothing to worry about.
Was there any big issue with the case, or any suspicion of fraud / lies?
