I am a naturalized us citizen since 2008. I'm planning to have a wedding and i want to invite my father to attend. Am i allowed to accompany my father to enter the embassy? The reason for this is because i want to be able to translate for him and also because my father is not doing well on his health condition (dizziness, short of breath). I heard that since i am a us citizen, i'm always allowed to enter the embassy without appoinment because that's my "home" but i'm not sure if they will allow me to enter the interview room because the only appointment available is only for my father. Can anyone give me information or suggestion? Thank you.

I am a GC holder. Recentlly I accompnied my mother for her visitor visa interview. Although the appointment was in her name, but they allowed me all the way in due to her health issues etc. I think you would be allowed too.

If someone's health is so poor as to limit ones ability to attend visa interview, it is essential to consider the stress of international travel. Travel health insurance - and then only a very few policies - will not cover any but emergency treatment. Be sure toi purchase med-evac and repatriation insurance as part of the package.

Remember that a visa can be denied if it appears that someone might become a public charge and utilize government paid health care in the US.
