Hi

What are the consequences being classified as resident vs. non-resident for a US citizen?

Understanding that this will not jepordize the US citizenship, what are the other impacts on the person in case with pro-long absence from the country after being naturalized?

Thank you!

If you are a naturalized citizen, avoid doing expatriating things.

As for tax purposes, you need to consult the IRS website or your acountant.

I guess your question is more like how you can avoid paying taxes on your world wide income as a US Citizen.

Here it is ;

All US Citizens are required to file And pay their taxes no matter where they live with the exception of;

If that person's income is less than 75 or 80 K ( I am not sure exactly but it's in that area )
and is derived from a non US source or company and if you are out of the US for at least 330 days in a given Tax year than you don't pay any taxes on that amount.

Be advised that taxes are not due from these people but a tax return is so do file your taxes on time.
