I will start to apply my US citizenship soon. My question is: as a US citizen, if I apply for my sisters' (family 4th category) GC and they are in US already as tourists (B1 visa is gonna expire in one year), do they (and their family) allow to stay in US legally until GC is approved? I know it will take more than 10 years to get approved. So they won't leave US in 10 years for sure if they can stay legally. Any advice/information links are highly appreciated.

they cannot stay legally while the visa numbers are not available to them. And they will not become available for 10-12 years from the time you file I-130 for them.

The maximum time period they can stay on B2 is 6 months. They have to leave the States by the date on their I-94. The validity of their visa is irrelevant.

They can choose to maintain a non-immigrant status that allows them to be here for a longer period of time, such as work visa or a student visa.
