US Citizen sponsoring parents who are already in the US on EAD..waiting on priority date (EB3 Dec03)

Interfiling from employment-based to family-based is hit-and-miss. Sometimes they reject it, sometimes they approve it. Sometimes they accept the interfiling request but then continue to treat it as a retrogressed case and make it collect more dust for a long time because somebody at USCIS isn't aware of the interfiling to the IR category. So be prepared for possible delays and hassles if you choose option 2.

thanks for the replies BigJoe5 and Jackolantern.

Although I like option 2, since it is less expensive and seems to make more sense. I will take option #1, since it is less risky and maybe USCIS will treat it as a whole new case...and process it faster.
