US citizen moving to India

I am a US citizen and my wife is considering becoming a citizen. We do not have kids. Are there any disadvantages to both of us being US citizens if we plan to settle permanently in India? We have real estate in India and 401(k)s in the US

Obtaining long term/permanent residence legally is not easy in India for U.S. citizens under current law.

There is no problem in staying in India for long term if you have PIO card. With PIO card you will be treated like an NRI. Nowadays lots of people doing this. But yes you do have to file US Tax. Also there are other pros and cons too. So good luck.
