Hi All, I have just become a US Citizen. I am planning to marry and live in India until her visa or GC arrives.

What are the documents I will be needing to take from US?
What are the steps involved?
Where do I need to send the documemts to ? What Address I need to mention?
Are the timelines different?

Thanks for your help.

If you plan to file for her green card in India, you can do so after living in India for at least 6 months and then filing I-130 directly at US embassy in New Delhi. Follow instructions for I-130 for supporting documents. See this website:

If not, you should file in the US to the appropriate USCIS facility.

As long as you are marrying in India, you could file an I-130 then follow up with I-129F for a K-3 visa for her to come sooner then file for adjustment in the U.S. It's just another option.

Yes, I would like to bring her along with me as fast as I can. So I-130 is the faster option? I guess I mixed up GC and I-130. Where do I need to file? Thank you.
