finally my journey came to the end onfeb/08 when i had my citizenship.I applied in 2003, did my interview feb /2005. since then i have been waiting for oath ceremony.i called customer services almost every week with no result, other than saying background check. also contacted congressman, i don't think it reall help. then i filed mandamus through a lawyer last may and surprisingly i have not heard anything from the court all this time. but in decem i got 2nd finger print letter and oath lwtter one month later.

WOHOOOOOOOOOOO

I am so happy for you. This Board really starts to get positive again. More IL are sent out. Oath Dates seem to speed up ......

Glad to see someone else's journey has a happy ending.

CONGRATS :D

got married before the oath but i didn't mention that at the oath because i have no documentation at that time. now i want to apply for my wife. is that going to affect me

It is kind of hard to say since there is a specific quetion that asks if you were married after interview on the back of oath form. Since you did not tell the truth, and if they find out, you can have problem. They can find it out since you have to submit marriage certificate now and date on that can be linked back.

Check with the same lawyer who helped you with the case. This is not something you want to take lightly as if you lose your citizenship on this, your wife will not get hers anyway.

If your lawyer talked about 120 rule, that will be 1447(b).

So lawyer filed motion in May and you only got action in December? That seems like an awfully long time considering that others who filed 1447(b) in the past have seen result in about 90 days.

Background Still Pending

THANKS AND HAPPY TO HEAR YOU ARE OK, I also in the same shoe, I did apply my citizen since 2003, I have done three finger print but still waiting for the Oath letter

Thank you, longwaiting1972.

could you tell me how you found your lawyer?

JOE77, I thought they will not ask for second fingerprint unless they are ready to process your case.
