US address or home country address on DV application?

Hi All,
I would like to apply for DV2009 but not sure if I have to use my current address in the US simply because I may need to move in the near future and although I can have USPS to forward my mail to new address but I don't want to depend on it. Therefore I'm thinking of using my address in my home country but what will happen if I'm getting the invitation for an interview? Will I have to have the interview with US Embassy in home country because I'm not using US address? Or, can I have the interview in the US? Considering current situation, I don't want to travel outside the US and therefore, getting interview in my home country is not a good option for me. Any advice/info would be greatly appreciated.

get a PO box.

no, these two things are unrelated.
so, we can choose the interview's location? i mean, could you explain to me what will happen if someone get the invitation for an interview, does the invitation will also include the date, time, and location? or does it have an option for us to choose about the date, time, and in regards to our discussion, the location?

When you receive the lottery winner notification, along with that letter there is a form that you need to fill and return back. On that form, you need to mention whether you want to adjust your status in US or you want to do the consular processing at the US Embassy abroad. Based on what you have filled, you will either have the option of filing in US or if you have chosen for consular processing, then they will give you the date, time and location. The location will be what you have given in the above mentioned form.

if you choose consular processing, you will interview at the US consulate in your country (or if your country doesn't have a US consulate processing immigrant visas, then they will schedule the appointment for you in the closest country that does). For example, people from Ukraine, Belorus, and some other countries in Europe interview in Poland.

So, regardless of the address on the application, the lottery winner notification will always have an option for us to choose:
1. adjusting our status in US
or
2. consular processing

This answer my question. Thank you.
But, just out of my curiosity, if that's what happen if one becomes the winner then the address on the application is not significant and therefore is there a purpose of having our address on the application?

how else do you expect to get the notification letter saying that you got selcted???

Thanks Igmu.
My question is more to the fact that the address on the application will be only for sending the notification and nothing more. For example, it doesn't for the purpose to determine the interview's location or to determine the applicant's citizenship (since you have to provide other document to explain your citizenship). Is that correct?

Exactly. If you get selected, one question of the forms which you have to fill out is where you would like to have your interview.
