Hi there, my interview is tomorrow and my spouse just got laid off today... what a bad luck, she is the sponsor and she makes more than what is needed for 2 household income, which is $17k/year.
technically she made more than that so far this year, and she made more than that the last 4 years. but after all she is jobless from today.
what could possibly happen in the interview?
I have been and still working in USA For the last 4 years and makes much more what they wanted but my spouse is the sponsor as I mentioned.

any advice or comment?
Thank you

IMO it shouldnt be a problem. They only check the last year's
tax returns. And since she did more than needed for this
year you should be fine.

The problem is when the officer asks for Letter of Employment of if the "where are you working?" question comes up.

It's a technicaliy isn't it? After having earned enough for 2, for a year,
one might stop working and could that person be eligible to
sponsor?

I would think that this should be alright for now at least.

Your interview is soon and its mainly based on your sponsors earnings in the past year, so you guys SHOULD be fine.

Get your GC and then I guess, you will have to fix this. You could as Praetorian mentioned in other threads have your wife be the sponsor even if she makes $0.00 and you can add your income and assets to be above I guess.

I am newer to all this than you guys, but just from reading previous posts if I were in your situation, that's what I would do.

PS: Sorry for your wife. That sux...

since the interview is tomorrow, they must have the employment letter in hand already... The question will come up, because it has to come up, and the wife will have to show the letter and the three last paystubs.

That is true, but my wife doesn't have a job only, she has a career and she has M.Sc., lay off happens all that time and she just got it today!! she doesn't work in starbucks and we are worried who is going to hire her????
she will still get paid until today!! (talking about pay stubs), now she can apply unemployment insurance for more than 6 months, and she never been without a job more than 3 months before.

so if that won't count under consideration. and a MS holder can't find a job anymore then this world has a problem.

the only thing is she can't have employment letter!!
