Urgent - want to add Wife to my 485

Hi all,
My 485 will soon going to be current.
Got married after applied for 485, wife in US on H4. Waited so far because of retrogression.

Just want to know -
Do I need to re-submit my 485 (Principal applicant) - adding my wife's detail ?
Or
just submit new 485 for my wife ?

I'm in sort of a similar situation, or rather about to get into a similar situation. :)

Hope you don't mind, but I had a few questions:
1. What is your priority date?
2. When you applied for 485 as yourself (Principal Applicant), did you apply as single or married?

Hi Guys,

I was in same situation before...

I filed my 485 as single, and got married after retrogression law became effective. As per my lawyer, I did not have to do anything for my file but just to file for my wife's 485. I did file for her 485 on my own. Once they received my wife's case, USCIS went ahead and updated my status on file as married. This happened last year, so find out if you have to do anything different now.

I did file for her 485 on my own. Once they received my wife's case, USCIS went ahead and updated my status on file as married. This happened last year, so find out if you have to do anything different now.

Got same reply from my lawyer

Thanks AF1 for your reply.
My lawyer also told me same thing - that I need to only file I-485 for my Wife.

By the way, here are my details: -
My priority date = June,16,2003 (EB3)
My I-485 filing date = June,02, 2004 (I wasn't married so filed just for myself).

I just want to know if you guys include tax returns, w2 as part of I-485 requirements. I am about to file I-485 and need some advise in this matter.

did you file for your wife.. which service center? did you get a receipt notice? please let us know

Hi AF1,
I am seeing different answers for this scenario.Apparently,you have to wait till PD is current- and one of my friends said he added his wife eventhough his PD was not current.
Even Attny Murthy says you cannot add if PD is not current and have to wait in one of her FAQs.

Were you able to add your spouse even when your PD was not current?
