I am stuck in a weird situation. First thank god that my I485 got approved today. Just got the emails. Now i have tickets booked to go to India tomorrow. I was travelling on Advance Parole. What should I do now ? I think it will be some time before i get the physical card ? Is there any way i can make this trip ? what status should i travel on ? OR do i delay this trip ?
 
travel on AP. Conside the case of what would happen if you had left the US on vacation last week and your 485 was approved while you were away, you would still be entering on AP upon arrival because you would not have the GC in hand. same is true in your current situation. You can enter on AP until either it expires or the first time you use the GC for entry.

See if you can go to the local office and get your passport stamped (I-551)

That would be good enough to travel.

If not travel on AP -- your only real way of getting know about the approval is via postal mail when the approval notice comes to you - which would take 3 or 5 days more.
You are not expected to track your case via email (though all of us do it) - I would think given the very short timeframe between your approval and travel date, you should be fine with AP - just appear very surprised when you come back and the officer tells you that you are approved !! (fake it like those winning the Oscars !!)

I went to the local office but their system was not updated.... scared me .. though i am still going to believe that i am approved. I dont think there is much i can do ... now .. i will go ahead and travel i guess.
