My company wants to transfer me to texas. I want to know how will this impact both my & my spouse GC process ? My RD 08/01, ND/10/01, FP 02/02 . still waiting on approval
Details Please. What exactly to do you mean by transfer?
Are you going on the other project to Texas. If that is the case, then depending on your RD which is 08/01, why can\'t you maintain the same present for few more days. May be you will be approved soon. If not I know about my friend who changed the address after filing for 485 and changed the address too. He did get his approval. There was no big issue. But this was a year back. Well another case is that my other friend is in the same situtation as you. He got the project in CA so his wife and kid are staying in the present address but he is working in CA. His RD is sometime in May and it is from Nebraska. Just a thought, though it is not a good info. for you.
Your transfer of residence to Texas will have no affect on your GC process. All correspondences from the INS will be directed to the lawyer. So make sure that your company lawyer knows how to get in touch for any information he/she may need from you. The INS service center is usually chosen based on the location of your company not your personal address. We have quite a few cases on this board where members residing in California and Texas have applied at the VSC due to company affiliations and have got approved as well.
Hope this answers your question. Good luck. Hope your case comes up with a successful resolution soon.
thanks, netboysk and ny485. I appreciate your help. I am presently in VA and expecting GC very soon. but this splitting of INS is maybe delaying the process.
Another question, should I maintain my present residential Address?
also, will my case at this stage be transferred to TEXAS service center?
Since you are very close to approval go to your local post office and ask them to hold your mails for 1 month. Try your luck for a month. If it gets approved you will be knowing it thru AVM. If it takes more than a month, then u better give a change of address to INS.
