Urgent - Some important questions on I485

I am in the process of filing my I485 and these are the questions that I have:

1) I am single and I have been told that even I file my I485 today, it will take at least 1.5yrs before my application gets approved. It seems there are tons of applications and highly unlikely that my I485 would get approved within a year. Is this true?

2) Even if I get married within a year, I can add my wifes name to my I485 only if the visa numbers are available. Is this correct?

3) What happens when the visa numbers are not available due to which I cannot add my wifes name to the process and meanwhile, my I485 gets approved?

I would highly appreciate if anybody could answer my questions ASAP.

Answers below:

1. Yes that's reasonable. All depends upon your priority date. It also depends on the employment category and home country.
2. Correct. You can add your wife to your application as soon as your PD become current again.
3. This is not possible - your case will not be approved while your PD remain retogressed (my opinion only). But this is a race around condition - you have to act real queick to add your wife as soon as your PD becomes current.

For all above you have to maintain H-1B status so that you can get your wife to U.S. (on H-4) after marriage.

I got my Labor certificate approved and my priority date is Jul3, 2007 and I have EB2 category. I am from India and I still have 4yrs of H1 left.
After having this information, can you please answer my questions below:

Scenario1:
As I understand they have made all the categories and PD current. If I file my I485 today and get married in 1.5yrs and then try to add my wifes name to the process.

1) What if the Visa numbers are not available for my would be wife. My main worry is if visa dates are not available and meanwhile what if my I485 gets approved.
