Urgent- RFE not received but status says response received

this is bizare
on ead renewal, i first received an email( also reflected in online status) that they issued rfe
we never received the rfe for 2 weeks. i was getting ready to call ins but what happened was that today, i suddenly received an email which said INS received the response and processing has resumed.
i never received the rfe- neither did the lawyer, let alone respond to it.
has this ever happened????

called INS - Guess what

they said all they can see is that ins received response.. :confused:
now they said, you can write a letter to nebraska ..man, this is getting too irritating
anyone seen that
