I was called in for my Interview in Oct 2006 and the interviewer assured us that everything went well and he had no reason to deny us approval. (Those were his exact words). It's almost the end of Jan now and I still haven't recived my approval letter. I got my work permit a few days after the interview and that made me believe that I was approved for real.

I called the customer service number and they told me that they will put in a service request to find out the status of my case since it's over 90 days. On the web site, It says that the case is still pending and that It is currently at the Missouri Center. I know my EAD Card came from Missouri. Does that mean that they are issuing my GC? I really don't know what to expect.

Also, on the day of the interview, we were asked to fill out a new I-130 form becos they didn't find the old one in the system. Is this going to cause a delay? I was under the impression that I have been approved but how long do i have to get to get my approval letter or GC? Also, what does it mean if a case is sent to the missouri center? Is that were they issue the cards or is there cause for alarm? Pls Help

Don't panic. If there was something needed it would have been bought out in the interview. The I-130 is not a problem. It usually takes up to 180 days to get greencard. Maybe name is stuck in background check but if it was they would have bought it up at the interview.

Getting EAD has nothing to do with I-485 approval.

Missouri Center handles the EAD

Sounds like a name check issue. At the interview, the officer doesn't necessarily tell the applicant that his/her name check is pending. :(

I am still stuck in Namecheck since my interview in April. The IO did not tell us anything about name check either. I found out about being stuck in Namecheck when I took infopass appointment.

I have called in Customer service twices and got them to send inquiry about my case status but to no avail.

No appointment for infopass available either. WHat is one supposed to do in such scenario? Eagerly waiting for my EAD.

So what does it really mean that my case in transferred to missouri? Is that where the final stuff is done?

Don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but I had my AOS interview at the beginning of December 2006.
Everything went well, and I was approved, 2 months stamp placed in passport.

BUT.... no green card or welcome letter appeared.

Well, my hubby and I went to infopass a couple of days ago. Guess what? After the approval, a computer step wasn't completed, so card production wasn't initiated. If we had just waited, the card would never have been sent. Now they have to send my file back to the local office from wherever it was sent for storage, and this final step needs to be completed, so a card can finally be issued - yet more beaurocracy!!

We have a further infopass next week, to make sure everything is proceeding OK.

All I can suggest is that if it's an excessively long wait for something with no updates, be pro-active and make an infopass appointment! Could be some glitch where data wasn't entered right, if at all!
