Urgent question

Dear all, :)

Today finally we have received a great NEWSSSS!!!!!!
I was called at home by immigration officer who conducted our interview and told that our case was finally approved since they had found the visa package at last. I am so happy now!!! At the same time I checked my email and found a message from Senator's office with the same news. So finally our sufferings have finished. :D
Now I have an infopass for Wednesday (08/16/06) and hope to get our passports stamped since next week we are moving to Boston, MA.
I think for both of your cases would be great to contact dicrectors of your local USCIS offices directly. I am sure that this thing alone helped to resolve our cases.
I wish you best of luck !!!!

Sincerely,

I am so happy for you! Congrats!!

Dear All

Guys, :)

Thank you so much for your support and information. This forum is a great thing and the best source for help in making steps and taking decisions for all possible situations involved in immigration proccess. I wish you all best of luck and may all the issues impeding the successful resolusion of your cases be fixed as soon as possible.
Tomorrow I have an infopass appointment to have my passport stamped. I will let you all know how it goes.
To Ipek79:
I would truly advise you to call KCC and make sure they got the request for you visa package and are working on it, and are directing it to the right USCIS office. Basically according to the appropriate procedure they should have requested it well in advance before your interview. But anyway I hope you will hear from them in the nearest future.

Once again best of luck to everybody !!! :) I will just keep my fingers crossed for you since I am well aware of how it feels to be waiting and waiting and waiting and fightling hard for every advancement in the proccess (My AOS sometimes was reminding me a Don Quixote fighting windmills).

Best regards,

Best regards,

Thank you.. As you suggested, I contacted KCC this morning and they told me that they haven't requested my package yet. I was really dissapointed since the officer told me that he requested it on 08/04/2006... So, I guess I'll wait till next Tuesday and check with KCC again since officer said that he'll be calling them again on Monday and every day from that day until he recieves it.. He should have requested my package before my scheduled interview but I don't know what he was thinking.. So, we'll see.. I guess I'll be visiting them very soon again.

Hi Ipek79,

Yeahh you are right, immigration people lie to the customers most of the time... They definetely should have requested it well before the interview date but unfortunately they never work according to the rules... They don't care and it is the most frustrating thing...Keep bugging your local office and keep calling KCC. Just try to be on the top of it all the time since the deadline is approaching. When we were getting ready to file a lawsuit I read a lot of materials saying that sometimes visa numbers were exhausted in mid September and number of cases, even those under court consideration, were left unresolved and people lost their chances. They suggested to play lottery again next year... I was appalled reading it..It was the most ironic and cruel thing I have ever heard.
Which city are you doing your AOS in?

I am doing my AOS in Denver. The interesting thing was I went to see him for the second time, there were other DV Lottery people like me and I remember that we all had our interviews on June 5th with him.. Apparently, he called everyone again on the same day to show proof that we paid for the DV Lottery fee.. That was kind of strange.. So, it seems like I am not the only one in this and I think he is going to request our files as a batch from KCC.. In our second meeting, he showed me the approval package he prepared for me. He said that he sent a copy of this to KCC on August 4th and he said that once they receive this, they will send my file to him. I asked him about DV #s being exhausted by the time that package arrives.. He told me that it is not the issue, he said that the most important thing is for him to request my file officially from them before September 30th. He said that he will call them again on Monday if he doesn't hear from them by that time. He said that he is aware of how important this is for me and he is on top of it and he apologized for all the delay and making me so worried so far. I am hoping that he was geniune in what he said but still what he did so far is unforgiveable...

Myself, I work in financial services.. As a frontline person, I don't get to see the official requests from higher ups not until things are processed and sent out. I am hoping that it is the same case for KCC.. Customer Service person may not see whether it may have been ordered or not ordered unless official contact person in KCC put some processing notes.. I am just trying to think optimistis but I am definetely going to be on their neck...

By the way, thank you for your feedback!

This is the same feedback I get when talking to them. They all seem to say that the important thing is processing before September 30th but they don't seem to worry about reaching the 50,000 visas, like that is not possible....

It looks like they issued 50,712 visas in 2003, so sometimes they do go over the limit....

Hi everyone, I just have a quick question. I want to know if i need a police report when filing for AOS. My husband won the lottery and he has been in this country for about 7 yrs now (legal), should he get the police report here in the US if needed or from Ghana in West Africa. Do i need to also provide a police report although i am not the primary applicant? If any of you guys have answers to this pls help me out. Thank you

Hi Spiicy,

As far as I know you do not need a police report for AOS, it is necessary only when you are going through the CP proccess. But I would suggest you to double check it by calling the USCIS Customer Service line.

Best of luck to you and your family!!!

Short question

Dear guys, :)

Finally my plastic GC arrived on 08/21/06. An approcal notice arrived three days beore it. We finally felt so happy and relaxed. :D
My question is whether it is obligatory to have our passports stamped as well besides having real GC already. My guess is that it is not since we can travel using the existing GC. But still I am not sure. I was trying to call USCIS on this issue but I am being put on hold for too long these days and I don't have enough patience to wait.
Please, advise me to your best knowledge.

Good luck to every body as the deadline is approaching!!! God bless you all !! :)

Congrats again.. As far as I know, the stamp on your PP is valid until you receive the physical card..
