I'm new to the forum, i've been reading for a while and helped me a lot to get information when submitting my N-400. I have a question I did my interview and passed on 09/24/2012 and the interviewer told me everything was good and that most likely my oath was gonna be around 10/14 today is 10/12 and I have not received a notice, also online status says "Testing and Interviewing" still. I called customer service and they said i need to allow 90 days after the interview to get scheduled for interview, there is noting they can do before that time frame.

My concern is that I have a trip planned for December and my Green Card expires on 11/20.

Can someone shed some light on this issue? is it normal time frame, been 3 weeks since i did the interview and status has not changed from testing and Interviewing. Thank you in advance. By the way I submitted my application on Joly and everything went really fast and smooth.

At the end of the interview the IO should have given you form N-652, "results of the naturalization interview". In the middle of the form there are two boxes:

A) Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval!

and

B) A decision cannot yet be made about your application.

Which one of these two boxes is checked in your N-652?

Also, by 11/20 do you mean that your GC expires on November 20, 2012? If yes, what did the IO say about this at the interview?

And he said I was gonna be a citizen before Gc expired

Although the online case status message is not very reliable and it has not been long since your interview, you could schedule an INFOPASS appointment at the local DO. Then you'll get to talk to someone there is person, and maybe they could speed-up your oath scheduling.

If you applied for naturalization with more than 6 months of validity remaining on the GC, you are entitled to free I-551 stamping in your passport if your naturalization is still pending when your green card has expired or is almost expired. Otherwise you'll have to apply for renewal if you want to travel after it expires.

So if you don't get an oath date by the end of this month, make an Infopass appointment to request the free I-551 stamp before you travel, or apply for renewal if you don't qualify for the free I-551 stamp.
