Urgent question! I missed the fingerprint appointment time

today, when I picked up my mails. I found USCIS sent me a Fingerprint notice: the scheduled time is today 10:00am. But I am too late to catch up the appointment time. The notice was sent out on August 4th, and the scheduled time is August 12th. There is no much time in between.

This is my third-time FP (code 1). My last one (code 3) was expired in July. From the notice, my case will be denied if I cannot attend at the appointment time.

What can I do? Are they going to deny my case? I will try to go to the ASC on Tuesday early morning because it is closed on Monday. What else shall I do? Please, please,....

Do I need to write a letter to PO Box 10485 to explain the reason? Or I need
to write a letter to ASC where I should go to for FP taken? Thanks...
 
Is the FP for I-485 or for I-765 (it is printed on the appointment notice)? Is there a mention of a grace period in the notice ("If you can't appear on the specified date, you can appear on any Wednesday (or whatever) afterwards, as long as your FP are done by [date]")?

If not, first I'd say keep the stamped envelope the notice came in (as a proof that you received it too late, should you have to file a MTR). Then I'd try calling USCIS customer service today, as well as going to the ASC center on Tuesday and trying to explain the situation. Let us know how it goes! Good luck!

just got back from ASC

Early this morning, I went to local USCIS ASC, and I explained the reason that I received the FP notice late so as to miss the FP appointment time. Fortunately, they allowed to take FP right away. So, don't worry in case you miss the FP appoinment time, just try to get there as early as possible.

The FP is for I-485.
