Urgent question for OCI

I am applying for OCI and renunciation together to save time. I am about to send the documents but have questions:

1. The instructions are not clear if I need to send the original Indian passport at the beginning or not. Do you know? See the instruction “d” below.
If the applicant has NOT renounced their Indian citizenship, or cannot show proof, the following must be provided:
a. Two (2) copies of the completed Renunciation Form. This form is current as of May 14, 2010. Disregard all prior versions.
b. Renunciation fee of $175 paid with a Money Order payable to 'Travisa Outsourcing'.
c. Copy of US Naturalization Certificate.
d. Most recent Indian passport. Applicant must provide photocopies of the first three pages of the passport and the last two pages of the passport. If you do not have your most recent passport you must provide an Affidavit of Loss, a copy of your naturalization certificate and either a copy of your birth certificate or a school leaving certificate. The $175.00 renunciation fee will still need to be paid.

2. How should I arrange the document?
a. 2 sets of OCI documents with the renunciation documents inside OCI documents. The document list has 10th item under OCI as “10.Proof of Renunciation of Indian Citizenship:” OR
b. 4 sets – 2 for OCI and 2 for renunciation?

3. Number of photos? 2 on the 2 sets of OCI forms, is that enough? Or 2 more as per the item #3 on the list of documents.

------------------
1. please DO send in your most recent original Indian Passport.
2. Please read the item number 13 on the TRAVISA website:
(13.) Two (2) Copies of all Required Documents:
You must submit two (2) copies of all application forms and required documents, including the OCI Online Application Form. All copies should be self-attested with a statement that 'This is a true copy of the original' and your signature.

Just to be safe, do option "b".

b. 4 sets – 2 for OCI and 2 for renunciation?

3. The more photos the better. Suggestion: put the photos on the application(s) as described on the TRAVISA website, but also put some in the small 2"x2" special envelope that photo shop will give you when you pick your photos up from the photo shop, or you can ask for more of those envelopes.

To be extremely safe, Just phone call TRAVISA, and ask them specifically as to how they want it done so that they do not return your package.

Thank you very much. The question 2 is still unclear. I am surprised how others are doing this since it's been more than a year about this instructions.

If someone had processed theit OCI and renunciation toger, please respond:

Please put 2 sets for OCI and 2 sets for renunciation.

I applied before TRAVISA, and this is what consulate accepted.

California - San Francisco Consulate,

Inch by Inch sure to Quench.... I submitted RENUNCIATION and OCI together last wk. by USPS mail - it was FLATE rate envelop w/t Tracking, write yr. ID # on the envelop...and also keep it for yr. tracking. for return also I used the same,,,,for both envelops it was less than $ 15....EVERYTHING, the form will guide you,,,, it is difficult to explain all you have to do just START entring the Travisa-Order form, they are updting me status time to time on my e-mail so far so good... It is true that one gets confused reading instructions, here is my way & suggestion.. you take it or leave it.....

1) All you have to do is open Travisa form and start filling the ORDER form.... the movement you complete you'll get an Application or ID # ......... then follow the CLICK on the form for Renunciation, it will take you step by step,,,, and you will sure complete it easly, now obtain print take two copies of Resunciation form, One they will send you stamped and the Other they'll keep..... if you go wrong don't worry start FRESH order form....

2) Again open the TRAVISA form for OCI and start filling as above...... it will guide you step by step.....
I made two money orders 190 + 290, and kept each set (Renunciation & OCI packet), they sent me information stating the the amount they have withdraw is as follows; 175 + 278 + 12 = 467 $, may be I sent 13 $ extra, it is OK for me,,,,, you only have to make "packet", just diffrentiate two packs... they want you to keep all the papers loose and not stapple or clipped, becouse they will arrange and review before submitting to Consulte.

All other questions it comes automatically while you are filling the application.... just START ....TRAVISA order form...
PS; when my wife asked a local notary to help fill our Renunciation + OCI, they said $150 + $300 only their fees !?
so.... open TRAVISA ORDER FORM and START........ you will laugh as it is so easy..... Good luck,
Indian origin guys are by nature 've X-tra IQ, so just start filling..... you'll WIN.
Salam - (peace be upon you)

When applying for OCI and Renunciation together, do we also need to put in a (separate) order form for Renunciation?
There is a cutout that says "Attention: Renunciation Main Department - Id# -----" Do I also paste this on outside of the mailer (in which OCI application is included)? This cutout thing is part of Renunciation application.
I am applying by mail to Travisa office at SFO.
Thanks in advance.
