Q10 of DS-230 Permanent address in the US where you intend to live, if known. Include the name of a person who currently lives there
Q11 of DS-230 Present Address

my querries:
Q1) Can I give the relatives address of ST1 for Q10 OR
I MUST give my current India address strictly OR can/should give my company's US address of ST2

Q2) in Question 11 can I give my relatives address of ST1? or it HAS to be my current india address?

Q3)Which address ST1 or ST2 will decide the Port of Entry?

Q4)if I give ST1 or ST2 in col. 10, tomorrow if a job offer comes in ST4..will this be a problem?

Answer: You can give either relatives or company address. I recommend you to give relatives address since it is more permanent as opposed to a office address where a lot of mail comes and easy for mail to get mixed up and last thing you want is to have your CP Approval welcome letters & / or physical GC floating in office mail. Just a thought!!

==============================================

Q2) in Question 11 can I give my relatives address of ST1? or it HAS to be my current india address?

Answer: Present indian address!
==============================================

Q3)Which address ST1 or ST2 will decide the Port of Entry?

Answer: POE has nothing to do with permanent residence in usa. You can live & work in New York (East coast) but enter USA from a city other than NY. POE is the first city in usa where you land and immigrate!

==============================================

Q4)if I give ST1 or ST2 in col. 10, tomorrow if a job offer comes in ST4..will this be a problem?

Answer: If this change occurs after filing ds 230 part 1 then you can either change the addresses:
1. at the time of the cp interview by informing the consular officer

OR

2. at the time of port of entry by informing the immigration officer OR

3. after POE by filing AR-11 with USCIS

I recommend 1 then 2 then 3 in that fashion.

c) Q 10 - If you are applying for IV in the E category, I would not mention staying at relative's place. -Undecided- or -Unknown- is fine.

Q2 ) Q 11 - India address where you are presently.

Q3 ) POE is immaterial, you can enter though any of the ports designated by DOHS of which I am sure only a few will be feasible/practical.

Col no. messed up

KD and Alren Thanks for the quick reply!!!

I am sorry, in a hurry, I mentioned the wrong Col no. w.r.t. DS-230-Part-1. The actual seq. is like this
start
Col. 10:Permanent address in the US where you intend
to live, if known. Include the name of a person who
currently lives there
Col. 11: Address in the United States where you want
your Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) mailed, if
different from address in the item#10(include the name
of a person who currently lives there).
Col. 13:Present Address
end

The above was ONLY for clarification. To avoid confussion lets follow the reference as was in the first post

Regarding reply to Col 10 of DS-230-Part-1. All the three options will be easy one or will put the immigration officers into suspicion?

Regarding reply to Col 10 of DS-230-Part-1. All the three options will be easy one or will put the immigration officers into suspicion?

10 - Unknown
11 - Do you have a reliable address in US where GC could be mailed? - If so that
13 - India address.

forsms2002:

10 - Unknown for right now. But fill in as soon as you know either @ consulate during interview or @ POE or after entering USA by filing AR-11.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11 - For time being put down your relatives permanent address. Confirm with your relative that they do not plan to move in near future. If they plan to move then you can give a friends address or follow as explained for column 10 above (as last option)!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------13 - India address.
