Entering in USA for the first time with immigrant visa (family based), Is it mendatory to come to same state where petitioner lives ?

No it is not required. Me and my family entered at different state then where our petitioner lives.
 
Well, Actually It is Mandatory.that you have to enter in the same state.. but mostly what happens what if you have to take connecting flights, and depending on your airlines...the immigration inspectors dont mind it...

they never even bother to check this......
 
In my case, we landed at New York. We stayed there for 2.5 months and then went to California where our petitioner lives.
